Liposuction in Dubai

Revolutionary fat loss

The procedure removes stubborn fat, tightens skin and ensures longer lasting results by removing fat cells and reaching areas that traditional liposuction cannot deliver

Liposuction is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures in Dubai.  Also referred to as liposculpture or simply “lipo”, it involves the transfer of fat from one or more areas of the body to another, to improve overall body shape and remove unsightly fat and bulges.

What to Expect During the Consultation

During your consultation, the surgeon will ask you a number of questions and perform some checks to assess your suitability for the procedure. You will be asked about any existing health conditions you or your immediate family members may have. The surgery is performed under a local anaesthetic. Thus, there should not be any significant issues. You will be given the opportunity to ask any questions, discuss your concerns or worries and the whole procedure will be explained in detail so you know what to expect on the day.

What to Expect on the Day of Your Surgery

Liposuction is a relatively short and painless procedure which requires general anesthesia , and you will not be able to feel anything during the operation. You should feel fine afterwards but you may still want to have someone with you immediately afterwards to take you home.

First, a small incision will be made and into which a cannula will be inserted. The cannula will be attached to a small vacuum device which disturbs and breaks down the fat cells, allowing them to be easily extracted from the body.

What to expect after your surgery

Following the procedure, you will feel sore and bruised, so we will provide you with pain relief. You may also be provided with antibiotics to reduce the risk of any infections. We also recommend a course of Velashape after the procedure to facilitate proper drainage and obtain a smooth, streamlined appearance. You should avoid any strenuous activities and exercise for a month at least.  You will also be required to wear a garment to reduce swelling for about 4 – 6 weeks.

Most people are able to return to work after a few days and can return to normal activities a couple of weeks later.

How much does liposuction cost?

Everyone is different, so it is impossible to give a standard price for this procedure. We will take into account a number of considerations before providing you with a detailed quote, including age, health, medical issues, skin elasticity and the desired results you are looking to achieve.

What is a Liposuction Surgery Procedure?

Liposuction is a body contouring surgical process that involves making incisions in targeted areas of the patient’s body to remove fat deposits. Like all cosmetic surgeries, the expected results and chances of complications depend upon the surgeon and clinic you refer to. That’s why we recommend the most reputable and experienced available at Nova Clinic by Aesthetics International.

How Safe is Liposuction?

Liposuction is generally considered to be safe and risk-free. It is a simple surgical procedure in which surgeons only take out fat deposits that are causing problems in attaining the ideal weight for the patient. They do this while keeping the patient under an anaesthetic that ensures a pain-free surgery.

How Long Does it Take to Recover from Liposuction?

The recovery from liposuction surgery can take anywhere from a few days to multiple weeks. It all depends upon the number of areas that you want to be treated and the amount of fat removed. As per regulations, all fat reduction procedures are limited to the removal of 9kg of fat.

When you take that much off of your body, it will need time to heal. In addition to the wounds, the body will also require time to adjust to the new contours. For example, the skin may take some time depending upon its elasticity and age to heal and stretch over the area where there was once excessive fat.

How Painful is Liposuction Recovery?

Initially, post-surgery, the patient is given medications to numb the pain that they may feel around the targeted areas. This will continue for a week during which they might need to have follow-up sessions with the surgeon to ensure everything’s going alright. The patient is also given antibacterial medication to prevent the risks of infections.

Provided that there aren’t any complications during and after the surgery, especially in the recovery phase, the patient can be expected to be back to work in 3 weeks. However, they can be given a compression garment that will need to be worn for at least 4-6 weeks. Also, strenuous activities are forbidden for patients to take part in during the recovery phase.

Does the Fat Come Back After Lipo?

Since it’s surgically removed, it’s not going to come back. However, it’s recommended to get a Velashape procedure done after liposuction to facilitate proper drainage of the residual fat inside the body. Also, if you end up gaining weight, you’ll eventually develop new fat in even the targeted areas of the surgery.

Which is Better: Tummy Tuck or Liposuction?

Both the procedures entail different techniques, expertise and even results. While tummy tuck might seem like a good option for those who’re aiming to lose weight, it’s possible to have other areas of your body that have stubborn fat. That’s where liposuction offers you the capability of choosing multiple areas to target for either suction removal or ultrasound-assisted removal of fat.

You can take assistance of expert aesthetics specialists at The Nova Clinic by Aesthetics International for proper guidance.

Will Liposuction Leave Sagging Skin?

Since characteristics of the skin such as elasticity, health and ability to recover can vary, it’s possible that saggy skin might be left to minimize invasive damage. Your surgeon will be in a better position to guide you about the results you can expect.

What Questions Should You Ask the Liposuction Surgeon?

You should have a detailed discussion of your medical history and the requirements that you have with your surgeon during the initial consultation. Feel free to talk about the surgeon’s experience and their opinion about what you should go for. You can disagree or doubt anything they say and ask for references to specific cases.

Ask them about the risks and complications that can arise during and after the procedure. Moreover, make sure to have them answer all your questions about pre and post-surgery precautions and best practices to follow to ensure ideal results.
