Botox Treatment in Dubai
Botox treatment targets overactive facial muscles to reduce dynamic wrinkles and improve overall facial appearance. At The Nova Clinic, specialists analyze muscle activity, design personalized injection plans, and administer Botox precisely to achieve natural-looking results.
Botox injections relax targeted muscles, prevent repetitive contractions, and soften visible lines such as forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet. Patients choose Botox treatments to smooth skin, maintain facial balance, and delay the progression of deeper wrinkles through proactive aging management.
What is Botox?
Botox is a neuromodulator derived from botulinum toxin type A that blocks nerve signals, reduces muscle activity, and controls involuntary contractions. Botox is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that inhibits acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, preventing muscle contraction and reducing dynamic wrinkles.
When injected into specific muscles, Botox interrupts communication between nerves and muscles, allowing the treated areas to relax and wrinkles to gradually fade. Clinical studies show Botox reduces wrinkle severity by 30% to 60% within 14 days of treatment (American Academy of Dermatology).
Clinicians use Botox injections to treat expression lines, manage muscle overactivity, and improve skin smoothness. Compared to other neuromodulators, Botox delivers controlled diffusion, maintains consistent results, and supports predictable treatment outcomes.
How Is Botox Treatment Administered?
Botox treatment at The Nova Clinic is performed by DHA-licensed practitioners who follow Dubai Health Authority regulations, apply clinically approved protocols, and deliver treatments in a controlled medical environment to ensure patient safety and consistent results.
- Muscle Mapping and Assessment: The specialist evaluates facial and body muscles, analyzes movement patterns, and identifies overactive areas that contribute to wrinkles or medical concerns. Based on this assessment, the practitioner creates a personalized injection plan, selects dosage levels, and aligns treatment with the patient’s aesthetic and clinical needs.
- Targeted Delivery: Using ultra-fine needles, the practitioner administers Botox precisely into targeted muscles or glands, controls injection depth, and ensures accurate placement. The treatment blocks nerve signals, reduces involuntary movement, and limits excessive muscle activity.
- Neuromuscular Blockade: Once injected, Botox binds to nerve endings, inhibits acetylcholine release, and interrupts communication between nerves and muscles. Botox disrupts SNARE proteins required for neurotransmitter release, which directly prevents muscle contraction at the cellular level.
- Gradual Onset of Effects:After treatment, Botox begins to take effect within 3 to 5 days, while full results develop within two weeks. Initial results typically appear within 72–120 hours, with peak effect reached between 10–14 days. Treated muscles gradually relax, wrinkles visibly soften, and patients notice smoother skin and improved appearance.
- Temporary and Reversible Action: Botox effects last between 3 to 6 months, after which nerve activity gradually resumes and muscle movement returns naturally. Clinical data shows Botox duration ranges between 90 to 180 days depending on dosage, metabolism, and treatment area. Patients often schedule follow-up treatments, maintain results, and prevent deeper wrinkle formation.

Consultation
DHA-licensed doctors evaluate facial anatomy, review medical history, and assess muscle activity to determine treatment suitability. The practitioner identifies key treatment areas, explains expected outcomes, and designs a personalized treatment plan.
Preparation
Before treatment, practitioners cleanse the skin and mark injection points under sterile conditions. To minimize the risk of bruising, patients are advised to avoid blood-thinning supplements such as Vitamin E, Fish Oil, and Green Tea, as well as anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), for 5 to 7 days prior to the procedure.
Recovery and Aftercare
After treatment, patients resume daily activities immediately. To ensure optimal results and prevent product migration, patients must remain upright for 4 hours, avoid strenuous exercise and saunas for 24 hours, and refrain from massaging the treated areas. Botox gradually relaxes muscles, reduces wrinkle visibility, and improves skin appearance over time.
Procedure
During the procedure, practitioners administer Botox using ultra-fine needles to ensure minimal discomfort. The injector ensures accurate delivery, monitors patient comfort, and maintains a sterile environment throughout the 15-to-30-minute process.

Rare side effects include temporary eyelid drooping or asymmetry. Clinical safety data confirms Botox has a strong safety profile when administered by qualified medical professionals.
Is Botox safe and FDA-approved?

What should I do before getting Botox?
Avoid alcohol, blood-thinning medications, and excessive sun exposure for a few days to reduce bruising. Stay hydrated and well-rested for optimal results. A consultation ensures the treatment plan aligns with your aesthetic goals, delivering natural-looking, refreshed skin without unnecessary complications.
What should I do after getting Botox?

Botox results typically last 3 to 6 months, depending on metabolism, treatment area, and lifestyle. Regular maintenance sessions help prolong effects, and repeated treatments may gradually train facial muscles to sustain smoother skin for longer periods.
Who should avoid Botox treatment?
Patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have neuromuscular disorders should avoid Botox treatment due to potential safety risks and lack of sufficient clinical evidence in these groups.
Individuals with conditions such as myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome, or active skin infections at the injection site should not undergo Botox. Patients with known allergies to botulinum toxin or its components must also avoid treatment.
A medical consultation is required to assess suitability. DHA-licensed practitioners evaluate medical history, medications, and risk factors before proceeding with Botox injections.
What’s the difference between Botox and dermal fillers?
Botox relaxes facial muscles to prevent wrinkles, while dermal fillers restore volume and contour. Botox smooths dynamic wrinkles, while fillers plump lips, cheeks, and deep lines. Both are effective but address different concerns in facial rejuvenation treatments. Learn about Botox vs Dermal Fillers and select the best for you.

I've been coming to The Nova Clinic Al Wasl Branch for laser hair removal and really happy with the results I'm getting. Shoutout to Dr. Saima, she's so sweet, very detailed and professional when it comes to explaining the procedures and whats best for me, and a shoutout to her nurse Rachel too. The only thing is that sometimes it's quite difficult to change or book appointments if I want to book something soon, which makes me have to wait a long time. However overall, I would definitely recommend this clinic to others!Fatma Hassan

It was my first time at the Nova clinic and I was pleasantly impressed. A very beautiful, spacious and clean place with excellent service and professional specialists. I came for a procedure with cosmetologist Natalya and she selected a treatment for me based on my skin type and according to my recommendations, we did peeling and lifting of the lower part of the face, everything went as comfortable and pleasant as possible) After the procedure, my face was shining and looked very fresh, and after a few days I began to receive a million compliments that I began to look much better and that something had changed noticeably, this cannot please me either when in the morning I saw an even tone and a toned face. In general, I am very pleased and recommend Natalia as a specialist in caring for your face.Diana Gorbacheva

The facial was kind of uncomfortable because it stings BUT after the results of the facial after 2 days i forgot about the unpleasant itches during the facial. Everyone told me im glowing which is why im going to do the facial again very soon! Plus it seemed like it reduced visible fine lines/wrinkles. I highly recommend this facial and clinic, as it's very clean and welcoming.Dunia hasbini
