Diplomate of American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery 25 years of Experience in Hair Transplant.

Dr. Sajjad Khan is Director of ILHT, Dubai and Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS). Dr. Khan is a world-renowned expert in hair restoration surgery with a remarkable talent for hairline recreation and a technical prowess that has led to many of his innovations becoming accepted as best practices in the field today. His clientele includes heads of state, royalty, elite athletes and top movie stars.

In 1992, Dr. Sajjad Khan completed fellowship training with Dr. Dow Stough, an early pioneer in the hair restoration field. That unique program was the first fellowship training recognized by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), which now certifies fellowships in the field.

But as early as the 1980s, when he was teaching human anatomy to medical students, Dr. Khan was preparing to break ground in hair restoration. He was the first to recognize and study the close relationship between facial features of different ethnicities to their own unique hairline patterns. In 1996, his research in this area was published in Hair Replacement, Surgical and Medical by Dow B. Stough and Robert S. Haber, in the first-ever complete chapter on hairline recreation. Later, his research promoted the concept of the “Low Youthful Hairline,” which he presented at the 2002 ISHRS annual conference and now is the industry standard.

The same year, Dr. Sajjad Khan’s surgical techniques won the “Best Surgical Tips” award at ISHRS.
As a Visiting Assistant Professor at UCLA in the late 1990s, he worked with Dr. Gregory Keller to develop a hair transplant training program, the first university-level program in the world. The program offered hair transplants for general cosmetic purposes and also to mask the signs of damage in trauma patients. Dr. Khan developed methods of restoring beards, mustaches, eyebrows and eyelashes to camouflage scars or burns, allowing trauma patients to lead more normal lives.

In 1997, Dr. Sajjad Khan was one of a small group of hair transplant surgeons to pass the first ABHRS certification program, making him a charter member in this prestigious organization. He has trained hundreds of surgeons in hair restoration techniques in the last 25 years.

Dr. Sajjad Khan contributed to two other hair restoration textbooks: Hair Transplantation, Fourth Edition, edited by Walter P. Unger and Ronald Shapiro (March 2004) and Procedures in Cosmetic Dermatology: Hair Transplantation, edited by Drs. Haber and Stough (January 2006).

His most current research focuses on how preventive and regenerative medicine affects underlying health. Because of his firm belief that great hair starts with a healthy scalp, Dr. Sajjad Khan offers regenerative treatments to harness the power of your own body strengthen hair and reduce loss. His enduring passion to push the boundaries continues to lead him to new areas of research and innovative methods of helping his patients lead happier, more productive lives.
